Chine collé is traditionally used to achieve the fine print detail attainable on delicate surfaces with the structural support of heavier rag paper. It can also be used to add secondary images that have been printed or transferred onto the chine collé paper.
This two-day workshop explores the traditional and experimental potential of chine collé techniques. Anna will demonstrate several methods to obtain a seamless lamination of washi papers or lightweight fabric onto rag paper in the final print. This class provides extensive hands-on exploration of these techniques, printing with your own intaglio and relief plates. Pre-requisite: Experience in intaglio and relief printmaking.
