Printmaker / Graphic Designer / Teacher

Dawn Boone is A6’s Education Manager. Dawn received her MFA in Printmaking from Bradley University in 1995, simultaneously completing a two-year print apprenticeship at Bradley’s Cradle Oak Press.

Dawn works primarily in intaglio (“below the surface”) processes, using drypoint needles and mezzotint rockers to inscribe images in zinc and copper plates. Dawn creates small numbered print editions—often identically hand-colored with gouache—and restricts her images to a small scale to create a more intimate relationship with the viewer.

Dawn has also worked extensively in etching, lithography and relief printing, and is enthusiastically exploring new non-toxic methods.
