August 4-October 1, 2016

Opening Reception: Friday, August 4, 5-9 pm

On the morning of August 21, 2017, thousands will gather in Central Oregon to watch a rare event. The first total solar eclipse to touch the continental U.S. since 1979 will cross the high desert at 10:21 am.

In anticipation of this event, local and regional artists explore the inexplicable draw of the moon, from its mysterious dark side to its roots in world myth and symbolism. Uniformly-sized moon images, each by a different artist, wrap around the gallery, creating an ethereal effect.

Juried by Patricia Clark, this exhibit also features work by two Oregon book artists.
