In book arts, the concertina is a pleated spine to which we attach pages. Like a mini accordion, the concertina provides the book artist with many options for page placement and book construction.  The result is a range of creative, 3-dimensional book forms.  In this two-day, hands-on workshop, book artist Ann Kresge will demonstrate folding , gluing, design and binding techniques. We’ll make several concertina-based books including flag and tunnel books.  This class emphasizes individual creative solutions. Ann Kresge will also present her latest concertina book, Sacred Spaces, on display in her February exhibit, “Gathering Spaces.” All levels of experience welcome.
