Taught by Visiting Artist  Ann Kresge

Sat & Sun, Mar 9 & 10, 10-4 pm

In this two-day hands-on workshop, students will learn several handmade book forms employing the “concertina” structure. Concertinas, or accordion folds, allow multiple ways of attaching pages and elements to create intriguing 3D, sculptural books. Book artist Ann Kresge will teach the following structures: Slit Concertina, Double Accordion, Flag Book and Tunnel Books. Students will learn the book art essentials of folding, gluing, book structure, design, and composition. Emphasis will be upon skill building, creativity and play! Everyone will be encouraged to work with his or her themes and materials. No experience is necessary and students will work at their own pace.
