Instructors: Lorna Cahall, Lloyd McMullen and Julie Winter

June 28 – 30, 2019

Friday 6 – 8 pm
Saturday 9am – 4pm
Sunday 9am – 2pm

Delve into the mystery of The Bird Goddess and winged images from Old Europe through the Bronze Age. Weekend opens with a talk by Lorna Cahall exploring the marks and images of the sacred feminine starting with the remarkable finds of the archaeologist Marija Gimbutas in her book The Living Goddesses.

We will

– explore icons through adding the tools of image transfer, drypoint and monotype printmaking to your art arsenal,

– learn how to pursue symbols and language as you add depth to your work and pull out your own visual interpretation of the aspect of spirituality encoded in the images,

– add layers of meaning with three methods of image transfer, and

– work in a community of artists learning/sharing/creating art in the well-equipped studio at Bend Art Center.

Workshop Fee:

$140 studio member/ $175 non-studio member
Supply fee $20 (to be paid at workshop)
